I recently joined this forum in the hope of information I needed.
I wanted to have some information from the ministry under my department is working.
Whether I can send Application to CPIO of the ministry or I have to route thro proper channel.

What is allowed under code of conduct of central civil services?

You are first a citizen of India.

You can directly file a RTI application thorugh the CPIO of your office. There is no need to use proper channel for RTI applications.
