During the floods of 26/7 our building has lost their important BMC approved building plans containing commencement certificate, approved plan and completion certificate. I do have the relevant file no. as one of our earlier secretaries had made a copy of the file no.
I made a written request to the building proposal department to provide us a copy of our entire file as I had the file no. However it's now more than 2 months and everytime I go to enquire they tell me verbally that they can't locate the file. Infact I interacted with the peon who searches records and he says he can't locate the same and mentions it might be lost. Can
RTI be helpful here to request a copy of our building plans? To whom should the application be addressed? Could someone help me draft the request?
I have learnt from a friend that the BMC water department also keeps a copy of every building plans? Is it possible to request them under
RTI to provide a copy of our building plans? to whom should the application be addressed?
