Delivery Status of Speed Post

I sent one RTI application by speed post a week back. The website www.indiapost.gov.in/speednew/track.aspx is not showing the delivery information till date. In the movement link only despatch from source post office is shown. The email link speedpost@indiapost.gov.in mentioned in the page of delivery information is not working.

What should I do?

Simply lodge a complaint at the booking office of through the website here: Web Based Customer Grievance Handling System - Complaints Entry

If you have the Speed Post no, you can make a call to nearest National Speed Post Center or state speed post center.

As per your advice I lodged complaint with Web based Complaint System.

Today, I opened PCStatus.aspx and found the complaint as closed on 1.07.2008. No information has been provided about the delivery status.

I sent one RTI application to DOPT through Speed Post. On going through Speed Post Tracking System I found though the despatch information was available there was no delivery information. On suggestion of kushal I lodged a complaint in the web based complaint page of postal department. Later, when I wanted to find the status of my complaint at Web Based Customer Grievance Handling System - Complaint Status I found that the complaint was closed on 01.07.08 but no delivery information was available in the page.

How can I know if the speed post was delivered or not?

Best would be to give a written complaint to the Speed Post centre where you posted your application and ask them to provide you proof of delivery since the online tracking does not give you any result.

Same problme here. I will tell u height of Indian post.
When I went of booking post office. They told me that their work is to just forwad mail and I should check with the addresser post office. I went there, from that post office I got reply that I should check with the addresse post office as all the acknowledge card or unaccepted or undelieverd mail is sent back to addressee post office.
This way I was just moving around from booking post office to addresser post office to addressee post office.

I have tried the link. It states that "Delivery status is not available at present please try later". Anyway, I submitted my email address there for receiving the information.

Another addition to my earlier posting. Today, I tried to open Speed post tracking and Speed post status link. I have found that my IP address has been forbidden for accessing the link.

If you are absolutely sure (although I doubt if the webmaster could have done it), then it is a case of "denial of service" and just strengthens your case further.

What was the message you got ?

Did you try accessing from some other machine / ISP account / Netcafe ?

the post by shakti confirms that there is some problem with the web site itself and no particular IP address has been blocked.
you may try going over it again.

I experienced the same problem like Meetor & other friends. I think I will follow the advice of the Karira, on written complain. Even I could not opened the Link "Web based....Complaint Status My Speed Post No is :EE326462119INIf any body can try to find out.

The website is down because of security reason. Further in India we are allocated dynamic IP's each time we connect to the internet, unless one is using a fixed IP leased line connection, therefore chances of particular IP or person denied is not possible.


'Denial of Service' attach is basically done by users by bombarding the particular website from innumerable locations so that the server crashes. It was done by protester in one case against the UN website as they gathered netizens and asked them to visit the particular site exactly at the same time.

I had a similar experience with the official website which lists questions raised in Parliament. Sent the following email to all concerned , but no reply till date:

I was on the website for 20 seconds and my antivirus software gave a different warning EVERY SECOND !

I have tried from two different locations today and have found the same problem which supports your statement.

Hi All,

I also have been receiving error on access denied for my IP, from the India Speedpost tracking URL. I have tried many times in past 1 week with same error. Then I contacted the Speed post where I despatched the post, who asked me to contact 04428294170 at Greams Rd PO, who referred to 04422312382 for INTL posts. They confirmed over phone the delivery date and the Singapore's Speed post URL Speedpost where I could verify the delivery. Similarly most countries have Web portal for their country's update which could be used, if any one is sending abroad from India.
