PSUs of our country are yet to develop the mindset of sharing information. Whenever any information is sought which may embarrass senior officers, the
PIO or the concerned department try to seek exemption under one of the sub sections of Sec 8(1) of the Act.
Is there any provision under the
RTI Act, or otherwise, which can be used to prevent these PSUs from resorting to diversionary tactics instead of going through the Appellate Authority,
CIC route, which is time consuming?
