I had filed my income tax return for the year 2006-07 wherein there was excess deduction of income tax at source. Please let me know as to how can I know if the excess amount has been refunded to me.

I am unable to find the CIPO's address. My ward no. is RANGE 12, Hyderabad. Can u please help me?

U would have mentioned IT ward No. on the top half of your income tax return. Even if you do not get it, file rti appln with CPIO, Office of Income Tax Commissioner, Income Tax Dept Hyderabad. U can visit website of income tax dept and get the address or just refer telephone directory under central govt.

devapiem,

The assessing officer for your ward/circle is himself the CPIO under the RTI Act. Just send your RTI application to him with a application fee of Rs. 10.00 by DD/BC/IPO payable to "Accounts Officer"
