Correction in PAN Data

I had applied for correction in PAN Data Last year. I didn't get any response. In Income tax website it was showing that the status of the application is "under procces". I didnt kwow the exact status of my application and the customer service people are also not giving the reason for delay. So once again i applied in Dec. Now also i didnt receive the New card and the status of the application is "under procces".
Now what step should i take? Wait for some more time or can i apply for RTI? If so where i can do it? Currently i am staying in Bangalore.

did u make the application in the Income tax Office or UTI (/NSDL)???

First time through internet and second time through TIN facilitataion centre.

Using RTI FORMAT u can ask THE INCOME TAX COMMISSIONER for the status of ur application.U CAN ASK " Who is the officer in charge?How long will it take to do th corrections?What is the daily progres of my application?When will the corrections be done?If the corrections are not done what is the reason for the delay in the work?What action has been taken on the officer who has not done the work in time?What are the rules &procedure for making the changes in PAN DATA?Since income tax comes under central govt.u have to pay the fees of RS.10/- IN CASH & not affix the stamp.

rti format for income tax:
U can use the same format i.e .ANNEXURE - A & fill up the necessary details
write to the I.T.Commissioner & get the details.
