RTI is the greatest thing for the right governance. I got my passport within a week after RTI.Those officer who dont even listen to you normally talk to you very politely after you show them RTI:-)
we should teach all of them that enough of maladministration has happened..now people know how to pursue their rights!
Till now i have very good experience of RTI. everyone, please keep spreading awareness about RTI.

yes i agree,
and i believe most imp thing is that ppl should know about RTI and they should realize its power .
spreading awareness will be very useful.

may be some awareness campaign can be started. i have already informed ppl at all yahoo groups i have subscribed. if all members do that.. soon it will reach many ppl.. ppl in s/w industry can easily spread this voice thru out country.

Hi,
the template application already given on this forum is good enough.
just remember to ask to the point questions , like
- exact date by when the passport will be issued
- what action is being taken on your application and whats the current status
- what action is required from applicant side if any
- what are the reasons for its delay and who is supposed to process it further.

moreover i forgot to share one important thing before.
in my case , i needed to re-submit my application with small correction. I have left column 11 blank where i was supposed to write NO (i.e. i never had a passport before). i have resubmitted application to PRO but nothing happened.
anyways, the point is ONCE RTI IS FILED , the Public relation officer didn't do anything with my application .

there is a SEPARATE RTI section that look after all files/appliations on which RTI application is submitted.

And there is almost no co-ordination between Public relation officer, public grievance section and RTI branch. So i directly met the RTI guy (in room no. 3) , and luckily no queue was there and in just 10 minutes i gave him my application and he assured me that my work will be done.

So if you are stuck in delhi passport office , just file the RTI and meet the RTI section. he was very polite and i also thanked him for his support.

Dont try to punish someone in your RTI at first application.
Just try to get your work done at first place . the system is not so perfect yet and it will not allow you to go against them using RTI. if your work is not done after application also, you can be bit offensive in your appeal.
in my case i have sent many mails directly to RPO and also through pulic grievance section but they never replied any mail. but in RTI reply they denied this and said that they replied all my mails. even in appeal's reply they didn't agree. So no use of fighting over something which they anyways cant do. probably they don't have much skilled staff and proper system for that. So spare them for few more years and allow them to learn .then we will attack them if needed.

Moreover, in general case i suggest all to directly meet the highest level officer they can meet. like if you are stuck in DM/SDM office, meet him directly instead of clerks and all. if you have completed all formalities, your work will be done.
