Family pension

Sir,
Under R T I we have asked for the information family pension from Army ( M E S ) .The authorities replied with the forwarding letter to C D A ( Not attached to us though mentioned as attached ) to decide the pension after 37 years. Now 2 months passed we have not got any reply .please reply how to proceed furthur.

I think ur letter was forwarded under section 6(3) if RTI act to C D A, can u give the content of the reply received by u.

Within two months you should hve received reply from CDA. Pl file first appeal by refering to my blog on how to file first appeal for central govt.

The query you have made is not clear. Please clarify that Whether the letter forwarded to CDA is your RTI application seeking information or it is the letter containing documents for family pension which the department has forwarded to CDA now after 37 years.

If the letter was regarding forwarding of your RTI application to CDA then you should go for the first appeal and if it was forwarding of the family pension papers then you can again ask for the status of the family pension case under a fresh RTI application.

Please let us know the contents of that particular letter.

It appears that you did not make the RTI application correctly addressing to the CPIO concerned. The correct addres is available in the web site. The Army authorities might have considered your application in a routine way and forwarded to the CDA for further action.

Anyway now it will be better to prefer an RTI application addressed to the Central Public Information Officer of the CDA (Please put the correct adress) seeking the information of the present position of the family pension case of PPO.No........(Name of the pensioner) ...who has expired on ............

Why to CGDA ? The CGDA can only forward the application to the CDA(Pensions), Allahabad. Instead it will be better if one approach CDA(Pension) Allahabad directly . The MES fall under Army and naturally the casse is dealt by CDA(Pension) Allahabad if the pensioner is a combatent .
