Can i get information for pending legal matter in family court from income tax department as the income of my husband under rti as amount of tax he is paying for his firm

Accesssing IT return of another person may not be allowed under RTI. However U can apply to the family court for ordering submission of copy of receipted copy of IT return of your husband or his firm etc. This may work, if you or advocate can convince the court for such submission.

Yes you can get the information by citing genuine reasons.The same has been already decided in the following case

Ordinarily, a persons IT return copy will be denied, unless you are able to substantially and convincingly prove that the matter is in "larger public interest", or that without that particular information your legal process will be prejudiced.
