railway employees are not central govt employees

Hello brothers and sisters

i am rajkumar.s , a railway engineer working in chennai.
i have applied for graduade level exam in staff selection commission but my application was rejected by the commission stating that railway employees are not central govt employees. Kindly advise me what should i do to go further the case since the commission has taken the wrong direction?

You should file an RTI application to Indian Railways first to know if Indian Railways employs are central govt. employees. Also ask the photocopies of the relevant orders. After getting the affirmative answer you can move your application to Staff Selection Commission.

Hi Dinesh,
i got the letter from the commission stating that "railway employees are not central government employees" with arguement withour any government reference letter. With the help of that letter i filed a suite in CAT, madras bench and waiting for further hearing. Notice was sent to commission regional office by the coart.

1. Are the railways employees central govt employees ?

2. If yes, please give me the copy of relevant order/rules under which Indian Railways are to be considered as central govt. employees.

3. If no then under which govt. the Indian Railway employees are considered employees of ?
