Hi Group This is my first post. I submit my tax return at kolkatta jurisdiction I have received the refund for the year 2003-2004, 2005-2006 But I havent received anything for 2004-2005 and 2006-2007 till now. As I have been traveling alot, I fear the courier or postman hasnt dropped it as it comes in registered post. Now my question is: 1. How can I get informations on the un-received returns 2. You know the IT dept people, they dont move a single document without bribe, I have seen it. So if I have to go to the department, how can I get my work done. 3. Is there anyway out, so that I can move in a hassel free way to get my refund. Awaiting you guys valuable informations on this. Regards Pradeep Sen      |

Pradeep, Please read jps50's blog on IT refunds. Your assessing officer for your ward/circle is himself the CPIO under the RTI Act. Make a RTI application to him asking for information that you want (including certified copies, if any) and send it along with a IPO of RS. 10.00 payable to "Accounts Officer". Please also read some of the threads tagged with "income tax refund" or "income tax" OR you can search for those threads using the search function available at the top of the page. Please also visit the "Guide" section of this portal. Many citizens have used the RTI Act to get their Income Tax refunds - without paying any bribe. You will be successful ! |
