Harrased by Income Tax Officers

Hi...I am being harrased by an Income Tax officer (Name withheld) on the pretext of conducting a survey....He has already taken a Rs. 10,000/- bribe and is asking for more...What are my options.

Could you tell us what is the problem? And what do you want?

Its difficult to understand the reasons for harassment and bribery involved? You need to provide us with some background to provide a legitimate solution.

The best way is to keep one's tax liability clean and pay the taxes correctly and in time. If you have paid all your taxes in time there is no need to bribe any one for the fear of survey.

I don't think that the RTI Act can offer you any options or help you out of this situation.
