Income tax refund

Hi,

First of i thank you all for circulating this information among the people, that some way is left to get their hard earned money back from thiz ... people.

I have sent RTI to the CPIO last week, they have made a call to me today and told that my PAN no is not updated in the system,hence is the reason for not giving me my INCOME TAX refund amount.

But my acknowledgment form itself is displaying the PAN no.She was not pretty clear what i should do, but told me this much to write an application to Bellary road Income tax office.

Can any body please guide me what should i do?

I have follwed the same procedure.and today i have received copy of a letter to deputy comminssioner of Income Tax(HQ)(ADMIN) & CPIO, Bangalore from income tax officer, bangalore , ward14(2), stating as below:-


"..ms ......,Bangalore applied for information which is not maintained by this public authority has reason to believe that the information sought for by the applicant is maintained by you or closely related with your functions, the application is hereby transferred to you u/s.6(3) of the RTI act for neccessary action.The applicant has made payment of the requisite fee through IPO.The information may be furnished to the applicant directly if permissible under the RTI act, 2005."

Now what i should do? yesterday i have also received a telephone call from iT department and they told me that "i have to apply at head office to update my PAN no in the system".Till i ask anything else she disconnected the call.

Can you share with us the questions you have asked from IT Dept ? In any case the department has to answer all the questions you have asked in your application. If a dept has forwarded your application, the next department has to reply you within 35 days.

Phone call received from the dept. should not be taken as reply to your application.

You have to wait for 35days. By transfering your application to 2nd PIO the responsibility of the first PIO is over.

If U donot get proper reply or refund within 45 days of filing rti application as above, inclg postal delay ,pl proceed to file first appeal by refering to my blog relating to first appeal for central govt info.

Yes definitely i will share it,,The contents of my letter to CPIO,Bangaloreis as below:-
" I ...... wish to seek information as: I have not yet received the Tax refund amount for the A.Y. 2007-2008, so I request you to kindly look into the matter and do the needful at the earliest.
Enclosures: -Enclosed is the ,NOTE: “IPO Nr, (123 & 12334) dated 16^th Jul 2008 issued by PO: ....., Bangalore towards application fee for this RTI Application. Kindly fill in the "Pay to" field at your end since I cannot find any information on your website as to in whose name this should be”."
this is all i have sent them.. jus followed jps50 article.

Hi all,

Today i again received a call stating that my PAN no in the system is showing invalid.So she asked for my PAN no over phone and after, told yes the no in ITR form and the one i told are same but why it's not showing in the sytem.. i Got Stuck.....Hmmmmm..

i applied for PAN no , i got it from the government now, while ITR filing it's not there in the system!!!

What should i do? whom should i contact for this query.
