RTI comes to the resue of a battered husband

In a marital discord case, the wife was demanding Rs.15,000/- as monthly maintenance charges on the basis of a return of income filed by the husband showing an income of Rs.5 lakhs odd. This came as a shock to the husband who had just started as a medical practioner after completing studies, and had not even filed any return of income. He approached the Department and filed an application under the RTI to know who has filed the return under the acknowledgement number as sumbitted before the Court. He also enclosed a copy of the 'forged' return.
It was found that on that ack. number, another person had filed the return. Though the name of that another person was not disclosed to the applicant (u/s 8(1)(j) and also being third party information furnished in fidiucary capacity) , but from the information provided under the RTI Act, it was proved that the wife had filed forged documents before the Court. The husband was exempted from giving any maintenance charges to the wife.
It is difficult to judge as to who is right and who is wrong in such cases, but if the husband is indeed in a hand to mouth situation, he was saved from the financial burden.

Quite an interesting case. I am happy that the battered husband had the presence of mind to make use of the RTI Act to wriggle himself out of an otherwise difficult situation.

this is good to read .. but not to sufur ..
i will tell u the same-to-same situation which im handling since from past-past 1 week .. but here wat im handling is that ..

The boy is 25yrs, girl is 23 years .. the boy is working as software engg in bangalore .. & girl is working in garments factory .. they got love marraige ..
after few days wat happened is that the clash between themselves ... is that .. the girl forcefully made her husband to sign for blank papers .. saying that what ever the income comes to him will go to her account in bank .. now she has filied in for a divorce in court putting statement that "My husband tortured me to bring sum of rs.3 lakh & + 1 lakh extra for dowry " he was helpless .. but this case turned reverse in court .. that now she has to give total sum of rs.4.50 lakh for been torturing husband " this case got down on day-before-yesterday.. when i was in front of judge of high court .. in bangalore ..

but im still now confused whether this case come under rti or not .. now im little relief hearing this kind of case .. now im thinking y i became police officer .. i use handle always crime related cases .. but this the 1st ever case i was handled in front of Bangalore Police Commissioner's Office ..
