Need Help: my pay was not fixed correctly in the 5th pay commossion and the anomaly forces me to dray lesser pay then my immidiate junior

Hello friends,
I am a defence service officer and have been quite happy with my life. Now completing along service of 20 years.
I had to resort to the provisions of the RTI Act as my pay was not fixed correctly in the 5th pay commossion and the anomaly forces me to dray lesser pay then my immidiate junior.
I had sent my first application under RTI last year wherein i got some information but it remained un answered to an extent. Now i have filed another application on the 5th of Jun 08 but am yet to receive a reply. Guess this application was a little hard hitting.
Now it is over 40 days and with no reply in sight should i go to the CIC. OR else how to i get my queries answered through the last application. What are my legal rights left to me and how do i exercise them.
If anyone could help me out i would be grateful. Also if i must approack the CIC then how and where do i send my application.

You may wait a little longer as the AA has to provide the info within a maximum of 45 days add to it the postal delay.

Now you can submit your 2nd appeal/complaint u/s 18 and 19 to the CIC online at.

I think you have filed your application to PIO only. Since you have completed 40 days, you should now file your appeal to AA as soon as possible under section 19 of RTI Act. Send the copy of appeal to PIO also.

After no reply is received from AA within 40 days, you can file your appeal to CIC.

Dear Sir,
I must compliment you for the excellent site and members. I need help on getting the replies on my RTI application which is long pending. Being in Defence services it is not always easy to get what you are asking for and so I am unable to trace the FAA. How do i got ahead in this case. My application pertains to improper fixation of my basic Pay in the 5th pay commission which forces me to draw an increment lesser than my juniors. Request advice me how to proceed.

Please go through Guide section (top, right hand,blue,5th) ,and various topics dealt in detail and easy to understand under heading "All About RTI" on Home page of this site.
You will find everything wrt RTI in these sections ,as to what,where whom,how ,even why.
Wondering ,that 5th pay commission has already become history, implemented reasonably long time back . It is the 6th pay commission ,recommendations of which are drawing wide attention and protestations from almost everyone ,and being fought over through media now.

Since you are in airforce,visit :Official website of Indian AirForce
Click RTI Act2005.
Click the place you want FAA for,e.g Air Hedquarters/western Command etc.
Addresses and tel nos of all relevant authorities are given there.

You can appeal to CIC (in New Delhi) like any other citizen of India.

Go through my suggestions at Post 5 above and go through sections recommended.
By the way Airforce site will also give you all details ,if you go through this site thoroughly,it has been updated in May 2008.
