    Voter list

    1) I need voter list for 39 Amboli constituency for year 1983. Where & to whom shall I apply for the same.

    2) One land lord has misused our name and our apperance in voters list of 1983 to declare slum on his land at CTS No. 368 which was acquired by BMC for proposed 20ft DP Road. The land lord by using our name and apperance in voter list showed 74 huts on the that place and got slum decalred on same plot by office of Dy. collector. Now the same slum are redeveloped under SRA Scheme. But actual there were only 22 huts. The list of huts holder submitted by landlords includes our name as seller of the hut on that plot to another person who is now eligible for flat under SRA Scheme. But in actual we did not have any hut on that plot we are residing on CTS 369 beside the said plot they misused our name and our appearance in voter list of 1983 as the same is required to get the slum declared by Dy. Collector . What should we do now and where to complaint and what information we should get under RTI Act from office of Colletctor and SRA Office. Otherwise we will be disqualified for the SRA Scheme in future if it is executed on our plot CTS 369 as we have all ready been shown as seller of the hut on the plot 368.

    PL Reply.

As per section 8(3) of RTI Act, you cant ask for information which is older then 20 years. So an RTI application will not help in this case. However you may write a simple letter to concerned Election Office requesting them to provide copy of the voter list.

You may also try from the local MLA or block/panchayat heads. They sometimes may have it.
