| Can a request be made to the concerned CPIO of any educational Institution about the marks obtained by the students in different subjects under RTI Act? Can anyone advise me whether I am eligible to get such an information under RTI Act? |

Yes you can very well do it provided the institute is financed by Govt and governed by RTI Act. Most of the time the institute publish the name of candidate along with number secured by him in each subject. There is no reason a institute should not provide you the results.

the answer is yes provided two conditions are satisfied: 1. institution is a government institution or substantially funded by government 2. marks awarded have civil consequences on the candidates i.e. they have the effect of affecting their selection to any post or educational course. the exam must be a competitive one determining the future of the candidates in some way. if it is merely an internal examination, RTI may not apply. |
