Hi There I am staying in Ambernath and the only way to commute for many of us is using autorickshaws. But the problem is that the autorickshaw drivers are not charging as per the meter as it is never functioning, besides they charge Rs.20/- for minimum distance. so what is the law regarding the use of meters and charging as per the authorised fares? Besides where can i launch a complain regarding this?      |

Welcome to RTI portal Jessica. Unfortunately this site is for discussion on RTI matters only cant help you in this case. You should lodge complain to traffic police in such cases. But in most of time cases people themselves want to pay a fix fare as they dont believe the meter installed in the autos. I dont know what is the number of traffic police in Mumbai. In Delhi it is 011-23010101. It is mandatory for autos to write the control room in their autos. Look for it when you use them next time.
