Re: Urdu brochure

Dear Poonam,
Thanx for your response and being so thoughtful.I require the information because my Urdu knowing clients are eager to know about the RTI act to use it and as such they want to have procedural knowledge.I myself do not know Urdu.i am working for RTI cause for the last 2 years.somewhere I am getting result and somewhere there is discouraging experience.I want to propagate in other languages also because untill you infiltrate deep in to the system questioning the misuse of authority, you can not get a law enforced.let this law may not be the property of a few english knowing people. There must be awareness of this law amongst all the sections of society without any discrimination of language ,caste, creed and sect.I would like to know whether the brochure is available in Bhojpuri or not? If it is not available in other languages, can not we invite the translation of English version of RTI act and procedures to get it published by any NGO and in some case by ourselves to make the law more success.
adil

Re: Urdu brochure

adil85,

Why don't you contact the National Council for promotion of Urdu language :

National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language

and ask them if they have any translation of the RTI Act in Urdu.

They should be promoting the RTI Act in Urdu !

Their website has the information in English...but there is a link to the Urdu website also, which I cannot access since I do not have Urdu fonts. Maybe the Urdu version is there.

The only other place you can try is with the APSIC (already checked and not available) and the UPSIC because these two states (AP and UP) should have a good number of people who use Urdu in daily lives.

Re: Urdu brochure

Is Urdu the declared official language of any of the Indian States ? I doubt . In case it is the declared official language of any state, it is obligatory on the state concerned to provide the urdu version of the RTI Act. Getting the urdu translated copy of RTI Act in that case should be priority task of RTI Activists of that region. IF IT IS NOT, FORGET IT. Every cityzen of India should be conversant with at least the official language of the state of his origin. There is a limit for demand and playing the ' unity in diversity'

Re: Urdu brochure

adil sir . it is nice that you want to propagate RTi among urdu kowing people also . but sir i think if you really want to serve people you start taking up RTI application on behalf of people who do not know how to make application . at the same time keep teaching/propagating knowledge of RTI.mere teaching/educating people about RTI is nothing but wasting your time . so plz take up pen and start writting rti applications for self and for others.
