I am not surprised by the above post. Our forum postings some how or other now seen dominated by " PF ", that it often appear as the Public Relation Wing of the PF/EPF Authorities. I think it is high time for us to concentrate on RTI without diverting much towards "PF/EPF", "ACR "and "Pass port" . This is purely my ownpersonal opinion.

New members are normally not aware about the objectives our site. They normally search for Provident funds and the search engines takes them to our site.

Exactly. People searching for RTI should hit us. If searches for PF, Pass Port etc are reaching us, it indicates that our pre-dominent feature is PF or Passport when such searches should have lead to our 'Big Helpers'.

My experience with PF office shows that they do not reply to non-rti queries and hence if we guide PF account holders to use RTI for PF problems where substantial sum is involved of the member, it would be a good use of our portal. After all, visitors and members are interested more in their immediate problem with govt. office, than niceties of RTI Act.

Somehow, even with massive computerisation and reengineering ofthe organisation the EPFO still remains alien to its members at many places.

There was a news yesterday that the PF department will soon be maintained by private agencies. Hope the situation will improver after the private agencies take over.

Sorry. The news was not about managing the EPFO as such. It was about managing the EPF Funds. So far the fund managers were only SBI. Now they are trying to open it up to private fund managers like Reliance. They will manage investment etc. It will definitely not be an unadulterated blessing for the EPF subscribers.
