We are in a strange situation where we have filed for Service & Leave records of a Government Employee working for Andhra Pradesh to defend ourselves against a false Dowry case. For initial RTI, we got a rejection under sec 8(1)(g) for which i went ahead and filed a kind of harsh First Appeal (All of the documents are attached).
Now, since i believe, PIO has no other option to provide me the details which we were seeking, they came up wth a ploy that we are harrassing the said Govt Employee by going to office and they filed a police case in their local jurisdiction(motivated by PIO and filed by actual govt employee). At no point we have never ever went to the actual office and all of the documents were posted using Reg Post with Ack Due. We have all the copies.
PIO's have found a new way to harrash applicants... i know this would be temperary in nature but yet again this incident proves that its not that easy to get the information straightaway.
1. Do you have the FIR copy ?
If not, get a FIR copy.
2. File a Complaint with the Police that you have exercised your Fundamental Right - Right to Information - and for that the PIO and the Government employee have filed a false FIR against you.
3. Contact local media - newspapers and television channels.....Eenadu, Deccan Chronicle, Times of India, etc. and publish the whole story. let it come in the public domain.
4. Compose a letter to the Chief Information Commissioner of AP in the APSIC. Enclose the FIR copy, copy of your counter complaint and describe what has happened. Even enclose copies of the press reports. Ask him to take action and get this harassment stopped.
