I have one general query, Assume that I am filing an RTI application for Ration card and my location is T.nagar and I am supposed to file it to the corresponding T.Nagar PIO. What happens, if I file wrongly to some other location PIO. Will he direct my Application to correct locationPIO or I need to again file... Please let me know.      |

Yes, the PIO shall re-direct your application to the correct PIO as long as 1. the other PIO is of a public authority under the same government (state/central/UT) 2. the query concerns only one Public Authority and not more than one. 3. the PIO knows as to which other PIO might have the information. In your case, the application will get forwarded. But none the less, try filing your application at the correct place.  Refer section 6(3) of RTI Act 2005.
