Under Right to Information '2005 how much can the SPIO charge for obtaining copies of Documents Required.

Generally it is Rs 2.00 per page of A4 size OR actual charges for sizes bigger than A4.

However, please refer to the relevant RTI rules for the centre or the respective State, depending on which Public Authority you have applied for information.

At BMC they charge Rs. 2/- for copy, but last week I came to know that the PIO is charging Rs.25/- for certified copies.

As per Sec 2(j)(ii):

j)"right to information" means the right to information accessible under this Act which is held by or under the control of any public authority and includes the right to—
....................
ii)taking notes, extracts or certified copies of documents or records;

"certified copies" are also part of information.
Therefore the charges should be same as information !
That is Rs. 2.00 only.
