Question: Deletion of name from ration card without the hassles of unwanted bribery to get job done

Hi,

I wish to get my name deleted from my parents ration card & add my new name in my husbands ration card.My name b4 marriage was Sheryl Lobo which on being married changed to Shruti Samel.I live @ Goregaon(E) Mumbai now (parents address Andheri E).Kindly suggest a clean & clear procedure also whom should I contact (Name & address preferrable)

First of all you have to get your name registered/changed with the registrar of names.
Then you have to go down to theoffice of the person responsible for issuing of ration cards. There find out the procedure for the things you need to do. Comply with the official protocol. Then file an RTI application requesting details of the application made by you.

No no there is no registrar of names the only thing is you should furnish a following affidavit :-

CHANGE OF NAME AFTER MARRIAGE (JOINT AFFIDAVIT TO BE SUBMITTED ALONG WITH HER HUSBAND)

(To be executed on non-judicial stamp paper)

and it is batter to get your marriage registered with your new name moreover you can get the same (change in name) published in two news papers (English & Regional Language news paper)
