Regarding issue of new passport inlieu of Damaged passport with no residence proof

Hi,

I want to know how to get a new passport since my old passport which was issued in the year 2000 under tatkal scheme has got damaged.My problem is that the address entered in my passport is not the the address where i am residing now. As i moved from my passport address as soon i received my passport.

Also like to mention that when i approached the chennai passport office for new passport in lieu od my damaged passport , was asked to apply under normal scheme once again since my police verification was not obtained during my first passport issuance as i was not residing in the passport address at the time of police verification then.

Now since i am not living in india and don't have a permanent address in india to show as residence proof ,how can i apply for a new passport once again.

Please advice me dear friends. As i am staying in a temporary passport with my family abroad.

proof of residence is must. apply for telephone, bank A/c and get it.
you need to give details of stay after you got your last passport.
this will solve your problem. But no question of RTI here.

I do have an nri account in bank of baroda.but that shows my abroad address as address for communication.

will that be ok for address proof.

Also as per my knowledge to open a bank account in india , also you need to show a local address proof.

How about telephone connection do you need local address proof for that too.

You can apply for a passport from the Indian Mission in the country you are residing. All Indian Mission abroad are permitted to renew passports of Indian residents.

You can give your abroad address as present address and Indian Address as permanent address in the application. So please contact the Indian mission.

u can contact indian high commison at your resinding country at presnt,
will solve for new passport
