My husband had applied online for a PAN Card during the month of January 2008 giving his overseas address for delivery. This was done from the website of UTISL. Accordingly he received an sms informing him the PA number but till date he has not received the PAN Card. Later on we came to know that the Card was sent to our Mumbai address and was lying at the local Post Office since nobody was at home and only the recepient of the envelope had to sign it. With a gap of few days, it was returned / sent back to UTISL by the Post Office. When we exchanged e-mails with UTISL, they informed us that the PAN Card was sent to the overseas address. In fact, we had to inform them that the Card was sent to our local Mumbai address instead of our overseas address. Inspite of paying courier charges and writing clearly on the Form, UTISL still made the mistake of sending it to our local address. Till date we have not received the PAN Card. Please can someone help me on how to get this matter solved. Thanks & Regards, |

Welcome to this portal. I request U to refer my blog at http://www.rtiindia.org/forum/blogs/...ding-govt.html. Your husband can file RTI application with the CPIO of Office of nearest Income tax Commissioner at Mumbai, who will direct it to the proper office within 5 days of receipt by him. Pl enclose photocopies of all the papers pertaining to PAN card and give details of wrong mailing etc. Pl make necessary changes in the suggested RTI queries to suit your case. You can also refer my blog at http://www.rtiindia.org/forum/blogs/...govt-info.html for format and guidance. Good luck.
