Hello Sir Is it necessary to ask via speed post? I would like to have the inspection round right in front of my eyes. In that case it will not take 30 days, i think only 30 min is enough to get answer of my query. Can i approach directly. Is it possible. Is there any acts/clause for that |

in some cases you can request the information to be provided in 48 hours when there is question of life and liberty. The onus to prove with evidence that there is a threat to life and liberty lies with the applicant. In your case you can request the Public Authority to carry out the inspection or take samples in your persence in the RTI application

You can submit your RTI application directly by hand, by registered AD etc. "Inspection" is also under your "right to information", as defined in Sec 2 of the RTI Act. Therefore, you need to make a RTI Application for inspection also. The PIO will inform you the date and time when you can visit for inspection. In case you want to take some ordinary or certified copies after you inspection, please mention this in your application. The only way to shorten this process is if the information you are seeking to inspect, falls under "suo-moto" disclosure under Sec 4 of the RTI Act. In that case, you can simply send a notice of inspection to the Public Authority a few days before and land up at their doorstep to inspect. |
