Need Help: Passport not received.

I applied for passport on Dec 17,2007 In RpO Chandigarh. As i have to join my job in Hyderabad I came to HYD on 15th Jan.My passport was ready by Feb and despatched at my prior address as i wasn't there I requested RPO CHD to redirect my address to Hyderabad on March 19,2008.I received a letter from RPO Hyderabad on April 08.2008 stating the receipt of my passort by RPO HYd.I despatched the relevant documents on May 07,2008 through speed post .No further communication was made .I went to enquiry office no.of times.I approached adalat too for 3 times .All in vain.After continous efforts and meeting with PRO I made my passport despatched on Aug.19, 2008.But there is no track record of it presently.

You should wait for another 2-3 days as your passport may be on the way. After that you should prefer RTI application to know the present status of your passport. Pls refer to the links given in my signature for more details.

Yes.I agree i should wait for another two three days.But I reside in the same area of the passport office where usually the passport is delievered the same day or next.

I have not got any written proof for the despatch of the Passport but i have got the despatch no., ie. speed post code.I checked the status on net there is no such record.I have my GMAT exam on 28th Aug ,that's why I am bit worried.

I am going through the same confusing phases, as you have gone through. I had applied for passport from RPO cHANDIGARH On 11 march 2008, and then I got a Job in Bangalore in July2008. I tried to enquire through teleenquiry services or grievances or sending mail to RPO, But since no one has replied me about what to do in this situation. I went to enquiry counter of RPO Bangalore, where that person told me write a letter to RPO CHd to Transfer files to Bangalore RPO, which I had already written AND got no reply from either of the RPOs. I am still in dilemma.
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO GET YOUR PASSPORT FROM HYDERABED RPO?
