Unanswered: Demolition by forest department at Dahisar

Dear Friends

I have a query specific to forest dept.
Recently there was comprehensive demolition drive at Dahisar near Dharkhadi touching Sanjay Gandhi national park.

I want to know from forest dept. the basis on which they have arrived at conclusion which land comes under forest (specifying CTS no.) since there are 100s of residents who claim that there houses are not in forest land.

Further there was not boundary located before demolition.

Please inform.

Regards

Sameer

Sameer,

You can apply for the required information under the RTI Act 2005.

The RTI application ahs to be addressed to the PIO and has to be as per RTI Rules and Fees of Maharashtra.

The list of PIO's in the Maharashtra State Forest Dept. is available at:

http://www.mahaforest.nic.in/List%20...Act%202005.pdf

The RTI Rules for Maharashtra are attached to this post:

In additions to the information as spelt out by Karira, do ask for the penalty provision for illegal felling of trees, demolition of construction etc.

Thumbs up Re: Demolition by forest department at Dahisar

dear sir

1. please ask the dfo of that division in which the area falls that, do they have 'ror' (record of rights) of that land?
2.have a photocopy of that & verify it with the "district land & land reform officer"
3.if the divisional forest office does not have the 'ror' they are not in possession of that land. and definitely you'll win in court.
4.you can also fill the form to get the copy of 'ror' with the help of rti.

thanking you
best wishes
tapashda
