Central Govt office complied to section 4 RTI after complain to CIC

LGB Regional Institute of Mental Health is an Institute of Mental Health located in Tezpur (Assam). LGBRIMH had not disclosed the details of RTI act on its website. They did not appoint the public Information officer and First Appellate Authority.

When through RTI application, the reason of non-appointment of RTI staff and non-display of RTI details on official website of LGBRIMH.

Then LGBRIMH authority clearly replied that they did not receive any notification from Government of India regarding this that’s why they did not neither appoint RTI staff nor display RTI detail on website.

Then on 1st July 2010, I send complained to CIC (Central Information Commission) under section 18 (1) (f) regarding non-disclosure of sue motto (non-disclosure/ non-appointment of RTI staff in office).

The CIC responded very promptly. on 14th July CIC send notice to LGBRIMH and copy to me directing that LGBRIMH should comply with section 4 of RTI act and implement within one month.

Now LGBRIMH had complied with section 4 of RTI act. LGBRIMH ad appointed RTI staff and displayed RTI stuff on official website ( www.lgbrimh.org)

It was one of the victory of RTI .
