As per information available on the CIC website, the backlog of cases as on 31 July 2008 was 8,331. Till date the average disposal rate is between 750 to 900 per month. That means (if no further Second Appeals / Complaints are received), a Second Appeal/Complaint will take between 9 to 11 months to come up for hearing. If one adds the 30 days for PIO to reply and 30 days for FAA to dispose off the first appeal......it means that a applicant has to wait 11 to 13 months to get information ! Karira , the news is sad & heart -breaking . Pl do send such news to DoPT for doing the needful. Otherwise the holy RTI act 05 will be useless very soon. |
