FIRST appeal after rejection of information by PIO of IIMC

I had applied to Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) seeking certain information under the RTI Act. Public Information Officer of IIMC refused to provide information on grounds of section 8(h). Now I want to make a second appeal to an official higher than the Public Information Officer of IIMC.

Please help me by providing the details of official who is higher (Central Public Information Officer if I am right) than Public Information Officer of IIMC so that I could make a second appeal for the information I had asked for.

If you are not satisfied with the information provided by the PIO or aggrieved by it, then you have to file a first appeal with the higher officer under Sec 19(1) of the RTI Act.

It has to be filed within 30 days of receiving the PIOs reply.

The website does not give any details of the FAA.
Best is to call the PIO and ask him as to who is the FAA.

Thank you. As per your suggestion, I had emailed to PIO IIM C asking for the details of First Appellate Authority but I did not get any response so far. I did not phone up IIM C because I have several bad experiences with IIM C, either they don't pick up the calls or I don't get proper response. Now I will wait till 27'th evening for a reply from IIM C.

In case if I don't get any response, how do I file my first appeal to First Appellate Authority of IIM C. The 30 days period expires on 31'st January and I need to speed up. Thank you once again.

Thank you. I will address my first appeal to IIM Calcutta itself as per your suggestion. The flow of RTI application link was very useful.

Just one more doubt. Should I pay any fee for my first appeal too?
