Hello friends I need you help. I was alloted one PAN number and the card. It got tampered, therefore I requested for the duplicate to be issued. Since 2 months, there was no corrospondence, later on after probing UTI, who issued me the card in 2004 said that it got cancelled in IT department list. After cross checking it with IT helpline, it was revealed that yes it got cancelled and thye have no reason. There is no second number that has ever been alotted to me on my name. I really want to retain the same number. I live in New Delhi,can i get it restored. UTI guys say they can not do any thing, IT help line guys say they also can't do any thing. Please help me friends.
