I am about to purchase a flat in Sai baba vihar complex on Ghodbunder road. I am concerned about the whole forest land issue. Can somebody advice me if this complex falls on forest land or is in the clear, alternatively, How do I find out for sure?      |

though i'm not very sure about it, but you can file a rti in the office of DM and ask him to furnish the details of land use of that particular land piece and also ask him to confirm the ownership of that land (as to who is the owner of that land piece) |

Hi May I know the current status of this issue now ? I am planning to buy a flat in garden estate before that I want to know will there be any problem in future ??? Whats goverment stand on this issue now ? Have they cleared the title ?? Thanks in advance Vishy |

Hi Vishy, I bought a flat on G.B Road in Sai baba complex, I got in touch with the registrar office who did a check on the plot numbers. It did not fall in Forest land. I have now paid stamp duty and registered the flat. so its safe. I suggest you get in touch with them. I am not sure on Govt stand, I am a N.R.I and dont know much about the system here All the best!
