Hey ! Just wanted to share with you guys something I was happy to see about my I-Tax refund ....  For 2 consecutive AYs ,(including AY07-08) I have been getting the Refund through ECS directly into my bank account !  I was glad to get my money back without any hassles. I have heard and read enough about horror stories  from people who either have not got their due refunds at all or have got it after running from pillar-to-post in IT ward offices... All I did was to fill-in my bank details correctly in the Return form at the time of filing it. Even though I had got it on time for AY06-07, I must admit I was bit worried about the refund for AY07-08 for two reasons 1. The amount I was expecting this time was higher (nearly 5k) and 2. The refund processing for AY07-08 had taken abnormally long time - I have got it finally just today ! Imagine...!! For all those struggling for getting Refunds for IT dept...a word of advice: "Try to do your tax planning such that you avoid the scenario of Refund altogether and dont make mistakes in the return form at the time of filing" You may say that I have been just plainly lucky in this but one thing you would still have to agree - The IT dept is surely working to make things easier for the tax-payer .... Dear dreamer, Glad to note that you have got your refund through ECS. Since your experience is one of its kind and nothing to do with RTI, I have shifetd your post from "Ask for RTI Query".
