Orissa RTI Group to Award RTI Crusaders

'Suchana Shree' is the State Level Award for the RTI crusaders of Orissa for recognizing effective RTI practices having sound development impact on lives of communities and citizens at grass root level.

With the emergence of corruption as the greatest public enemy, the relevance of the Right to Information Act has become all the more relevant in a region like Orissa. So the citizens who have used RTI & shown innovation should be recognized. We have intended for rejuvenate and energize these activists by recognizing their work and to spread their glorious works among the masses of the State & Country.

You are requested to nominate the names of your known RTI Activists who deserve for this award with all the related information. All the nominations should be reached here on or before 30th Sept 2008. Before nomination please follow the rules & regulations, attached herewith.

Dear Friends,
NAMASKAR !
‘NAMASKAR’, the forum of NGOs, CBOs & POs of Orissa is organizing a ‘State Level Convention on Right to Information’ on 12th October 2009 at Bhubaneswar to mark the 4th Anniversary of complete enforcement of Right to Information Act-2005. On this occasion we are going to felicitate some RTI crusaders in the State of Orissa with ‘Suchana Shree’ Award. This award was constituted by NAMASKAR last year.
The State Level Award for the RTI crusaders of Orissa called 'Suchana Shree’ aims at recognizing effective RTI practices that exert perceptible developmental impact on the lives of communities and citizens living at grassroots level. With corruption emerging as the greatest antithesis to development and public interest, the relevance of the Right to Information Act as its antidote has equally increased all over, and more so in Orissa, which is now pitied by the people elsewhere in the country for its chronic poverty, hunger and backwardness.
Under the circumstances, the bold and forward-looking citizens who have used RTI themselves & helped others use it and thereby demonstrated a tangible, positive impact on the life of the communities living down below, need to be recognized for such pioneering initiatives. Such recognition is sure to rejuvenate and energize these activists to continue their interventions with greater determination and resolve in days to come. Besides we at ‘NAMASKAR’ have decided to propagate their efforts and achievements among the common people throughout the State and the country, so as to encourage others to emulate the examples of such path-breaking RTI activists.
This year ‘Soochana Shree’ Award will be given to five individual activists & one group.
You are requested to nominate the names of the RTI Activists/Groups, who you think deserve the Award as described above. All the nominations along with particulars against each should reach here on or before 31st August 2009.
Before nominating an individual or a group for the Award please go through the following set of rules and regulations.
Rule and Regulations for ‘Soochana Shree Award’;
·The Nominated individual/group must be from Orissa.
·The Nomination can be sent either in the given format or in your own style.
·The works of the nominee must be non-religious/non-partisan & based on public
interest causes.
·Focus should be given to the self-inspired individual activists rather than Professional
NGO workers.
·The nomination can be communicated by any Organization/Individual in any
Indian Language, preferably in Oriya, Hindi or English.
·The process & impact of the works carried out by the nominated individual/group
should be clearly mentioned in the nomination papers.
·All the nominations should reach the address mentioned below by email/post on or
before 31st August 2009.
·All the rights to decision are reserved by NAMASKAR.
