The Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioners shall be persons of eminence in public life with wide knowledge and experience in law, science and technology, social service, management, journalism, mass media or administration and governance

How do you manage to pick out stuff like this? It is quite amazing that from assembling information from just different public sources you can learn so much.

But this is the point at which we realize that we also need something beyond RTI -- such as the press or other interested constituency -- to create more pressure and help bring about some change. But despite the occasional noise that constituency is largely limited to leisurely armchair reporting of CIC rulings. I am beginning to think that many journalists may not realize that even with a tiny investment in time and effort -- say, to attend an actual RTI hearing -- so much more can be learnt that is not revealed in the rulings.
