Before transferring gas from one agency to other in the same city, talk to the agency where you want the connection to be transferred and get a date for transfer the gas connection. Sometimes, the new agency may not have the regulator in stock.

Connection are provided by Indian Oil company and not the by the agency. If a consumer is not satisfied with one agency, he has the right to switch over to another one.

The agency to which the connection was transferred refused on the ground that a transfer means "change of address" by the consumer and he cannot accept this transfer because the consumer is staying at the same address. Whereas my argument was that it is the connection and consumer which is transferred from one agency to another and not the address. When we change the address, we just inform the agency and he changes your details in the computer without making any transfer certificate.

When asked to show the rules, they agency said they only verbal instruction and have no written rules on it.

As we all know, there is rampant corruption in every gas agency. But try to file this application and you will on their VIP list getting delivery of cylinder just in few hours.

As a matter of fact, for Internal transfer of Gas agency within the same city, we need not to surrender the Gas Cylinder and Regulator, only the registration will get done by the receiving agency.
