Government of India - online Grievance forum

Government of India has an online Grievance forum at http://pgportal.gov.in/Can you imagine this is happening in INDIA?

The govt. wants people to use this tool to highlight the problems they faced while dealing with Government officials or departments like Passport Office, Electricity board, BSNL/MTNL, Railways etc.

I know many people will say that these things don't work in India, but this actually works as one of the employee in CSC found. The guy I'm talking about lives in Faridabad. Couple of months back, the Faridabad Municipal Corporation laid new roads in his area and the residents were very happy about it. But 2 weeks later, BSNL dug up the newly laid roads to install new cables which annoyed all the reside! nts including this guy. But it was only this guy! Who used the above listed grievance forum to highlight his concern. And to his surprise, BSNL and Municipal Corporation of Faridabad were served a show cause notice and the guy received a copy of the notice in one week. Government has asked the MC and BSNL about the goof up as it's clear that both the government departments were not in sync at all.

So use this grievance forum and educate others who don't know about this facility. This way we can at least raise our concerns instead of just talking about the ' System ' in India.

I have filed a grievance on that website about Oil marketing companies selling ONLY branded petrol and diesel in the twin cities.

I have used this DARPG grievance redressal thrice and it was a complete failure for me.
I first used it for the complaint of GM roadways. They only send a print out of the online form which we fill to the concerned authority. Other than that nothing happened and i solved it on my own.
Then i complained regarding non-implementation of 3% reservation for disabled but nothing happened other than forwarding my case to an IAS.
Lastly, i complained regarding non-allotment of land to NGO despite CM's verbal order but again nothing happened.
So i have no faith in this portal.

The registration no. to my second grievance was DARPG/E/2008/01506. It was forwarded to Sh G.S.Raju of ministry of social justice & empowerment. The date of action was 14 march 2008. However nothing has happened apart from my extension being reduced as a punishment from 6 month to 3 month.

For the last grievance, regd no was DARPG/E/2008/01570. But when i log in i get the response- registration number does not much. How silly.

I had submitted one grievance in this DARPG , last year. It was sent to the concerned Deptt. of Govt. of West Bengal. But that Co operation Department is too much co operatve ( to the corrupt officer) , against whom that representation was submitted . After a long persuation , both central & state grievance , nothing could be achieved. That corrupt officer retired without any punishment.
But inspite of that I had submitted a few representation to the central DARPG, at least they are forwarding these to the state Govt.
I did not give up .
