Haryana to set up RTI Cell

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has decided to create a Right to Information

cell in the State Chief Secretary’s office to ensure timely response to RTI

queries.

According to an official spokesman here, a letter issued by the Administrative Reforms Department states that the main function of the RTI

Cell would be to coordinate RTI

work with the official departments.

There is nothing new in this. The General Administration Department of the government is already the Nodal Department for the RTI

in respect of the state. In that case what is new ?
