How many days does CIC, Delhi take to allot number to 2nd appeal? * Wonder how many days CIC Delhi takes to allocate number (case number/diary number/appeal number) for submission (2nd appeal) made IN PERSON.----- By the way, is it case/diary/appeal number that one should expect at this first stage?
* Is there any formality after which it allocates the number?
* In case of ambiguity, who needs to be approached?---- Would be great help if that online/email detail be made available?

For filing an appeal by hand you are given the allotted file number during the submission itself. You should carry photocopy of first page of your appeal to get it stamped and dairy numbered by staff. You can also check the dairy number of your appeal at CIC's website at this link. You should wait and keep check on the status of your application till the time it is listed for hearing by an IC. Both the parties will be served notice and given sufficient time before the appeal is conducted. The appeal can take time depending upon the IC your application is allotted to.Sponsorer
No, there is no formality after submission of your application. Once you find the status of appeal as "appeal admitted" wait for the date of hearing.
In case of any ambiguity, you can file a addendum or write to the registrar of the IC to whom your appeal is allotted.

Re: How many days does CIC, Delhi take to allot number to 2nd appeal?
During my submission, the lady at the counter only affixed CIC stamp on my copy as acknowledgment for having received it. I distinctly inquired with her on the number (file/application/dairy). She said that it will be made available online in the next two days. But that seems not to have happened. Have I got to do something?

Did you check your name at the link given in my first post? I think your name is listed in diary section on 18 Aug 2011.
