delay in getting informatin
Hi,
I applied rti form for seeking information regarding delay in police verification for passport on 9/7/2011.i received required information from the PIO on 26/8/2011.My question is according to rti PIO supposed to give required information in 35 days but for me it took more than 35days for him to give information, whether it is 35working days or 35days from the date that i had applied and one more interesting is he signed the letter on 10/8/2011 i don't know whether he signed really on that date and they sent it through speed post normally in speed post it wont take more than 2 or 3 days for me.why PIO did it like this?

Re: delay in getting informatin
It is 35 days - RTI is never on holiday !
The trick of backdating is being done by many PIOs.
Important thing is to concentrate on the "information" you asked for.

Re: delay in getting informatin
The reply to your question is as said by Mr. Karira.
It is 35 days from date of receipt of application without any holidays strictly.
It is up to you if you want to stick to make PIO more concerned about it and to correct his habit or misunderstanding of law. You must reply and remind him that he had made a delay, it is a duty of an RTI applicant, not to leave issues, to keep the path of RTI clean for new entrants and to make PIO know that applicants do understand the correct meaning of law.
BUT IF YOU HAVE TIME AND ENERGY FOR IT.
