Hi, I have not received the refund for last two financial years. I was working in bangalore and recently moved to pune. Where should i get the information about the refund? I read some of the threads in RTI which were helpful. But still i'm confused about the DD's. How i will be able to know to whom i address the DD? And can we send this through post or do we need to submit this personaly? Please help me in this regard. Regards Sanjay |

Sanjay, The RTI application needs to be addressed to the Assessing Officer (ITO/Asst. Coomissioner) with whom you filed your IT Return for which you are claiming refund. The IT department has designated ALL assessing officers as CPIO's. The DD/BC/IPO of Rs. 10.00 needs to be in favour of "Accounts Officer". |

Hi, I've one more doubt. I got my PAN when i was in Gujarath state. And the problem with the IT refunds is when i shifted to Bangalore. Will this be the reason? I think this should not be the reason. Correct me if wrong. I've changed my address to Bangaore but still the refund is not made for this financial year. |

PAN has nothing to do with state. This is a central govt matter. Refund Order will be sent on the address given in IT Return.If after filing return U have changed address, pl intimate new address to Assessing Officer with whom U have filed your return, so that refund order can be sent to new address. Enclose copy of the return filed by you to enable the dept to locate your file etc.

thank you very much for the info. To summarize first i'l fill the application form, take IPO/DD of Rs 10/- addressing Accounts Officer, attach photo copy of my IT return form and send it to the (regd post) respective assessing officer. I hope this should be fine. |

Dear JP im planing to submit the docs and application under RTI act for my IT refund. Can you please suggest me the address to whom i should send the Post in bangalore? I read in this site in one of the thread the following address for bangalore. Income Tax Officer (GC) C.R. Building Queens Road Bangalore Is this is the right address? and also to whom should i address the Rs 10/- IPO? And also please list the documents i should attach?
