An amount of Rs 5910 is due for refund from ITO Chennai for the Assessment Year 2007-08. Even though I had furnished my present address and bank particulars The ITO had sent a communication to me at the old address seeking details of bank account. I furnished the required particulars. As I did not get any reply I represented to the Chief Commissioner Income tax Chennai. I promptly got a reply that the cheque was under issue by the Refund banker. After that I did not receive any refund. On enquiry at the office I was informed that as far as the department wasoncerned the case is considered complete once the refund banker issued the cheque. How do I go about getting the information on the refund? Please suggest S sampath      |
