Acknowlegement/Registration No. of IInd Appeals to CIC/SIC.

Several IInd Appeals & Complaints under Sec 18 are pending for a long time with CIC/SIC without any Acknowledgment/Registration No. due to which Status Position can not be verified. There are some orders to reject any Appeals/Complaints but no intimation for this is also given.
Are there any PIOs/AA for office of CIC/SIC or is there any way to know the position of our Appeals/Complaints? This is nothing but highhandedness. Is there any remedy? Do you have any official or unofficial machinery to depute somebody and find out the position of such pending cases of our Members or are they any Social Workers/ Activists, who can help in this respect? I can give the details.

There are PIOs and FAAs in CIC and SICs who are governed under RTI Act the same way any other PIO or AA

Click on the tab you will be taken to another page. Type "Ruparelia" in the 2nd field "Name of Appellant / Complainant".

CIC/SICs are covered in the definition of Public Authority u/s 2(h) of the RTI Act. Accordingly, they are bound to comply with the provisions of the Act.
