Need Help: how to get information about land records.

Hi Freinds,

I am Ashok Shetty from mira road, thane. I wanted your help, because inspite of my several attempts to get the required information about the land records, i have been unsuccessful because of the attitude of the officials.

I want to get information about the land records. The 7/12 extracts of the property had been manipulated and the person is claiming ownership over the land. As per the property card, the building owner of the land is in my fathers name. How can i get the search report of the past record for the said land.

Welcome to this portal. U can file RTI appln with SPIO of Mamlatdar Office of the area asking him to supply you 7/12, 8a,6,2 etc. For format and fees pl refer http://www.rtiindia.org/guide/how-to...ules-33/.After getting the papers, ask an advocate [preferably one on panel of nationalised bank-you can get contact details by visiting any branch] to conduct search for 30 years and submit title report of the plot to you. This U can submit to Mamlatdar or Collector of the area for correction. If they do not act in 30-35 days file another application by refering to http://www.rtiindia.org/forum/blogs/...ding-govt.html.If the plot belongs to your father he should apply in his name, or you can apply by stating in the appln that u are son of Mr._____________and hence has interest in the info. Provide all info and available papers with the RTI appln to enable the dept to locate it in their records.
