Hi, Is there any APIO/PIO with Central Information Commission,New Delhi? If so while making an application under section 6(1) of RTI ACT 2005 seeking certain information from CIC,in whose favour DD has to be taken towards the application fee and what is the amount to be remitted? Yes. Shri Pankaj Shreyaskar, Deputy Secretary & Joint Registrar is the PIO. As per DoPT guidelines DD/IPO/Cheque should be in favour of "Accounts Officer, Central Information Commission" when applying to CIC. The application fee is Rs 10/- |

U can apply to any one. It is better to address as CPIO only without any name. Officers keep on changing. It has to be redirected to correct CPIO by the CPIO who receives it. This has to be done in 5 days of receipt of RTI appln. For format and guidelines, U can refer my blog at http://www.rtiindia.org/forum/blogs/...govt-info.html. IPO of Rs.10 is the cheapest mode. It is available in post offices.
