Framing RTI: Voter list woes

Around 200 municipalities in Maharashtra go to poll next month. May be a dozen corporations will be voting in Feb, next year. So, most of urban Maharashtra is busy in voter registration. There are many complaints regarding this process. Influential political leaders are registering far more voters than population! I plan to submit an rti application to know more about the transparency and accountability of the voter registering machinery. Pl check my application and give suggestions to improve the same.

Information required:

Number of registered voters BEFORE the work of updation of electoral roles in view of the present elections was undertaken. ....- male, female, total

Number of registered voters AFTER the work of updation of electoral roles in view of the present elections was undertaken. ....- male, female, total

Number of applications received for inclusion in voter list - Male Female Total

Number of applications received for correction invoter data, and number of corrections actually carried out as per application

Number of applications for corrections which were rejected for any reason. Also pl provide certified copies of order/ instruction of such rejection along with any supporting documents, file notings, etc

Number of applications received for removal of name from Voter list - Male Female Total

If names of any voters were removed without any application by the voter, provide a certified copy of order/ instruction of such removal along with any supporting documents, file notings, etc.

If the work of updation of voter list, or any part thereof like data feeding, was outsourced to private agency, pl provide certified copy of agreement entered into with each contractor

If the work of updation of voter list, or any part thereof like data feeding, was outsourced to private agency, provide name and designation of officer responsible for overseeing the process and certifying the satisfactory completion of work by contractor, as well as officer empowered to clear the payment to each contractor.
