I got my Passport thanks to RTI I had applied for RTI on 23.10.2011 and on 24.10.2011 I read the post on DPG (Directorate of Public Grievance) and on the same day lodged a complaint with them. As I was earlier told by RPO, Kolkata that my PP Form was with the Orissa Police, I made a visit to the local police station under Cuttack jurisdiction on 1.11.2011 and to my surprise found that my PP form was not with them. I came back and checked the status and was pleasantly surprised to see the status change to “Passport was ready on 28.10.2011”.
I received my Passport today (03.11.2011). Thanks to RTIIndia team that guided me throughout the process. Thanks to the members who always took care to provide me every reply in detail to my queries. Without them my Passport would have been with those corrupt officials today.
Cheers to RTI! Cheers to DPG! Cheers to RTIIndia team!

Re: I got my Passport thanks to RTI
For reference and help to all the members who are facing delay in passport you can file an RTI and then follow it with a complaint with DPG at www.dpg.gov.in in case you were promised action by the RPO and then the action was not taken. To file a complaint with the DPG you must visit the RPO or else the complaint is not taken by the DPG.
