Hello,
Let me first start out by saying that the site is absolutly awesome and i will be putting up a link to this site on my website. All i need is a nice logo

Now to my query

I am defence enthusiast....Recently like yesterday i saw a report of CAG on the navy establishment which said that india was not ready for war via sea land or air force..there had been many scandles in the clthing for army men in siachen ...the air command had gaps in parts of india and 75% of the india's navy fleet was not operational

This report was filed by CAG and was chaired in the parlement

Now i want a copy of that report.

I free the next week and hence i want to get a copy of that

I live in delhi and i can go to the CAG office.

Now i need to clarification on this.

1.Will i get a soft copy of that report ?...Because if i can then that would be great .

I also need a hard copy

2.How much do i pay for that?

3.I. have a copy of my passport as a ID,will that do?

4.How long will it take to the soft and tha hard copy ?

5.and well the letter format pretty much

Thank a lot guys....you are all patriots in my book.

These are part of C&AG's Audit Report. It is an absolutly public document in the public domain. It will be interesting to know how the report reached at this stage. When the audit objections vis-a-vis recommendations made by the audit authorities under C&AG to make good the loss by persons responsible is ignored despite repeated persuations, this comes up before the Public Accounts Committee chaired by the Leader of the Opposition. When they also fail to sort out the issue, the C&AG has only on choice .ie., to bring it to the notice of '" WE THE PEOPLE OF INDIA" telling us "Look chum ! this is what the government you chose to elect to Rule you has done with your hard earned money" This report is called Audit Report meant to be accessibile to public but we do n ot get their copies so easily unless try to get it. The media is suppossed to give wide publicity' but .....

1) You can get a soft copy if it is available with the CAG office or if the officer is willing to scan it for you. You can definitely get a hard copy.
2) You have to pay Rs 50/- for getting the report in CD. For hard copy, if any price has been fixed for the report then you will have to pay that or else you will have to pay Rs 2 per page for photocopying.
3) Generally you don't need any ID proof, but you can keep a copy of your passport, just in case.
4) They get a maximum of 30 days to provide you the information sought. This will be increased by the number of days you take to pay the cost of information after their intimation for the same.
5) You will need to file an RTI application with the PIO of CAG office. For details on how to draft and file an RTI application please read our RTI Guide section thoroughly. Since you will be personally visiting the office you can pay the application fee of Rs 10 in cash. Remember to take a receipt for the same.

However, I am assuming that the report is not so confidential as to have threats to India's security if divulged in public. If that is the case the report will not be given to you.

Feel free to revert in case of further queries.

Antony admits India's aerial vulnerability - Yahoo! India News

Now i want a copy of this report
Quote:
A day after the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) pointed out that India's security was vulnerable to hostile aerial attacks, Defence Minister A.K. Antony has acknowledged that obsolete and insufficient number of radars held by the Indian Air Force constitute "a serious problem". Antony said, "The process of induction of radars began in 1991, but we were not able to provide the necessary air defence equipment due to diverse reasons.
So what say you guys?

Re: The recent report on defence equipments by CAG

These are not that critical at all as the C&AG consider.. Our Defence Forces are quite capable of tackling such cituations. They are much capable than the Auditors think to ensure defence preparedness, Submarine or No submarine. Man Behind the Weapon has always been the acme of Indan Armed Forces over others.

Mr.AK Antony still fail to realise the greatest damage he has caused with his inability to protect the Ezzat and breaking the morale of the backbone officers of the Defence Forces . 6 Pay Commission has achieved with a stroke what the Pakisthan Army could not achieve in 60 years, 3 wars and innumerable intrutions.. The Ezzat of the Officers are hurt when the Lt Col/Cmdr/Wg.Cmdr on pay scale No.25 is placed under Superintendenting Engineers in the lower pay scale No,24 by putting the juniors in PB-4 and the senior Lt Col etc on lower pay scale PB-3. The Indian Armed Forces have never bargained for more pay nor doing it now nor will do any time. What they are seeking is their IZZAT. The Lt Col/Cmdr/WgComdr are already drawing more than the maximum of the pay scales they are put.in by 6 PC Similarly the reduction in pension is made 25% to 50% in respect jawans who take civil employment in lateral absobtion. Will anyone pardon this harakiri done to the defence forces ?

Pardon me for being a bit of a politically affiliated man.

It not one man to blame .....its is the rulers for the past 50 years to blame for this state of the armed and navy forces.

Been there done that.
Not there. As a matter of fact there is no section called "Ministry of defence" So no point.
I am more interested in the scandal of clothing provided to jawans in saichen glacier.

One more thing i have been through the website of the Lok sabha and Rajya sabha.....nothing there too..These website are so ill manged.....A webmaster, like me,is having troubles navigating through the website and i can just guess what a normal man has to face.

One last help
Do i need to mention the name and the serial number of the bill in my RTI application, I don't know exactly the name and the thing it is called ...

Rest assured once i get my hands on it (Evil laughter,,,,,, Muaaahhhhhahahahhah) I will get a soft copy and upload it here and on my website

Re: The recent report on defence equipments by CAG

No Tejaswy. Now it is one man show only. When he was the CM of Kerala he used to threaten his resignation for the drop of a hat. This time despite, all the Chiefs together pleading him (unprecedental) what he has done ? If the FM and PM were not listening to him what stopped him to say that he is resigning ? This time he and he alone is responsible for the damage to reach at this stage. He failed and not seems doing anything to retrieve the cituation. It does not need any GoM as done. All he should have said is that there should not be any degradation of IZZAT or redutions .

Re: The recent report on defence equipments by CAG

Both of us know the hard restriction put by the GOI in accquiring mil tech,NO middle men ...and a tech purchase over a certain amount ...it comes under transfer of technology (TOT).Remember the Aero banglore show which took place a long time back fot the purchase of 128 MCRA ....what the hell happened to that ?

The jet still has not been chosen..I mean what the hell ...all of them are equally capable jets chose any one and get on with it. BUt noooooooooooooooooooooooo
Its been 3 years on and still a ******* jet has not been chosen.

Let me say a jet will be chose any time next year (that is the best answere a govt has ,next year) it will take another 10 years to bring the Technology here in india and another 5 years to get the jet out of the production line

What was the point i was trying to make here ...I forgot!!

O ya,I will agree with you if you agree with me []

May be that is why?
